Abundant Faith Ministries started with its first church meeting on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the home of Elder Curtis and Michelle Butts.

 

Pastor Kenneth McGraw Sr. discussed the vision God had given him to start a new church called Abundant Faith Ministries, where people believe and trust that God will do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. (As stated in Ephesians 3:20)

 

He further stated that Abundant Faith Ministries would be the type of church God is looking for in these last days. Our goal will be to attract people of all ages and cultures to the saving grace of Christ and the kingdom of God. The church will be established on the doctrine and affirmation of the Church of God In Christ.

 

 

THE CHURCH VISION STATEMENT  

We see Abundant Faith Ministries as a dynamic, spirit-filled, multi-culture church transforming lives through the power of Jesus Christ. Inspiring its members to impact our city and surrounding areas with the Gospel message through Bible study, leadership development, Sunday school for all ages and community outreach programs. Demonstrating increased faith through the power of God working in its members.

 

THE CHURCH MISSION

Empowering members through God’s word to become disciples of Jesus Christ, who walk by faith in receiving power to carry out the great commission plan, of winning souls through witnessing to their family, community and the world according to Acts 1:8.

Pastor McGraw agreed to take members who have a desire to be part of Abundant Faith Ministries and the Church of God in Christ organization. A total of nine (9) people were taken in as members, not including the first family.

 

On Sunday, April 7, 2013, our first official service was held at the David Hill Learning center, starting with Sunday school at 9:00 am and Morning Worship Service at 10:00 am. The message was entitled, “The fullness of God’s Blessing for you”. Four (4) additional people were added to the membership.

 

Our Pastor’s desire was to move our church from the learning center to a church where God’s Spirit reigned. In October 2013, Abundant Faith Ministries entered into a lease agreement with United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Martin. Both Pastor McGraw and Pastor Martin agreed that it was God’s leading that has brought us together and we have been blessed to share their church facility where the love of God continues to grow.

 

Our first worship service in our new home was held on October 20, 2013 with the sermon of “Everyone should Praise the Lord”. And we are grateful to God for his divine guidance in leading us to the United Methodist Church and our new home. Over the past 6 months we have shared ideas and services together and we look to God for our continued direction and growth to reach this community and souls who are lost.

 

Abundant Faith Ministries membership continues to grow with God adding to the church severally as he wills. We thank God for the opportunity to serve and touch the lives of people with the message of God's word in this community.
